Time to give JVC some love. I know I know….some of you will think “No way man JVC sucks.” This couldnt be further from the truth, at least when it comes to their HDV Camcorder line.
I got into a discussion the other day with a coworker about this. Sony Canon, and Panasonic get all the love in the HDV Camcorder market, and there are very good reasons for that. JVC on the other hand seems to suffer in part from their rep from their other product lines not always being so good, and in part from the fact that it wont do 1080i out of the box. But the truth is that these are extremely good cameras that have even been compared to the Canon XL-H1
For the documentary and small budget film fans I think these are a great buy considering the quality of product that you can produce with them compared to other more expensive rigs.
